Meet Our CEO!

The Central Academy of Arts and Technology (Caat) is excited to introduce the new CEO of LinkEd Schools, Greg West. Caat, the first school of choice in downtown Bakersfield, offers the education local families are asking for – in-person classes for TK-9th grade with an arts and technology focus, all designed to prepare scholars for college.

 

Who Is Greg West?

Greg is a lifelong resident of Bakersfield and brings more than two decades of experience in education to his new role. He previously served as Kern County Superintendent of Schools before being named the CEO of LinkEd Public Schools.

Greg is a lifelong resident of Bakersfield and brings more than two decades of experience in education to his new role. He previously served for five years at the Kern County Superintendent of Schools before being named the CEO of LinkEd Public Schools.


Caat is the first of the LinkEd Public Schools to open in Bakersfield. Now in its 2nd year in operation, Caat is already expanding, adding a second class at each grade level and a 9th grade.

Greg is a graduate of California State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He earned a Master of Science, Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services from University of La Verne and a Master of Education, Curriculum and Instruction from Fresno Pacific University.


What Else is New Here?

As we kick off the new school year, we’re welcoming our returning scholars along with their new classmates.


  • 98% of the students enrolled during Caat’s first year are returning this year!

  • The Class of 2029 is beginning their high school education here which will include AP courses, individualized college and career counseling, college readiness courses and so much more!

  • Our outdoor space is ready for recreation.
